Relocating a main switchboard and metering position touches the network side of the supply, making it a Level 2 ASP job. Sydney Power Group (SPG) plans and executes switchboard relocations across Greater Sydney, coordinating the disconnection and reconnection with Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy or Essential Energy.

Homeowners relocate boards during renovations, extensions or when a board sits in an inaccessible or non-compliant position. We ensure the new location meets clearance, accessibility and enclosure rules under AS/NZS 3000 and the Service & Installation Rules of NSW.

Why Relocations Are Level 2 Work

Moving the switchboard usually means re-routing the consumer mains and, in many cases, altering the metering and service connection. Because the supply must be de-energised at the network and reconnected afterwards, an accredited Level 2 provider is legally required.

Planning A Compliant Position

The new switchboard location must be readily accessible, adequately protected from the weather and positioned to meet network metering requirements. We assess cable runs, enclosure suitability and clearances before work begins.
