Upgrading from single-phase to three-phase supply is a flagship Level 2 ASP service. Sydney Power Group (SPG) increases your supply capacity to power ducted air conditioning, EV chargers, workshops, pool equipment and modern high-demand homes and businesses across Greater Sydney.

A three-phase upgrade touches the service mains, consumer mains, metering and the network connection — works that legally require an Accredited Service Provider and must meet AS/NZS 3000 and the Service & Installation Rules of NSW.

When You Need Three-Phase

Three-phase supply is required when single-phase capacity can no longer carry your loads — think multiple air conditioners, ducted systems, three-phase machinery, spas or fast EV charging. It also balances loads more efficiently across larger installations.

The upgrade typically involves new consumer mains, a rewired switchboard and three-phase metering. If capacity is more modest, a single phase upgrade may be all you need.

Network Coordination

Because a three-phase upgrade changes the demand placed on the network, SPG coordinates the supply upgrade and network connection with Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy or Essential Energy. Where the existing service line cannot support three phases, we arrange new overhead or underground mains.

We confirm the point of attachment and service protection are rated for the new supply before energising.
