Connecting a new property to the electricity network is a flagship Level 2 ASP service. Sydney Power Group (SPG) delivers new connections for new builds, knockdown-rebuilds, subdivisions and secondary dwellings across Greater Sydney, from service mains through to energisation.

A new connection involves the service mains, consumer mains, metering and network coordination — all legally requiring an Accredited Service Provider and full compliance with AS/NZS 3000 and the Service & Installation Rules of NSW.

Getting A New Property Connected

SPG manages the full connection — determining whether an overhead or underground service best suits the site, installing the consumer mains, and preparing the metering position for energisation.

For sites needing power during construction, we can arrange temporary power before the permanent supply is connected.

Subdivisions & Multiple Dwellings

Subdivisions and dual-occupancy developments often need new private poles, additional metering and separate supply arrangements. We coordinate private pole installation, metering and the point of supply so each dwelling is correctly connected.

Larger developments may require CT metering or a three phase upgrade.
