Overhead Conversions

Overhead service works — installing, replacing or reconfiguring the aerial supply line — are core Level 2 ASP tasks. Sydney Power Group (SPG) manages overhead conversions across Greater Sydney, including new aerial mains, point-of-attachment relocations and re-routing of the service line.

Because overhead works involve the network side of the point of attachment, an Accredited Service Provider is legally required. All works comply with AS/NZS 3000 and the Service & Installation Rules of NSW.

Overhead Service Works

Overhead conversions cover installing a new overhead mains supply, relocating the point of attachment during building works, and replacing aged or storm-damaged service lines. Modern installs typically use aerial bundled cable for durability and safety.

SPG confirms ground clearances, span lengths and attachment strength before energising.

Point Of Attachment & Poles

Where the attachment is failing or poorly positioned, we relocate or reinforce it, and can carry out private pole works or a power pole replacement in the same visit.

If you would prefer to remove the overhead line entirely, ask us about an underground conversion.

Coordinated & Certified

SPG coordinates the network connection and the disconnection/reconnection, then issues compliance documentation on completion.
