Aerial Bundled Cable Repairs

Aerial bundled cable (ABC) service line repairs are core Level 2 ASP work. Sydney Power Group (SPG) repairs and replaces damaged, sagging or storm-affected ABC overhead service lines across Greater Sydney, restoring a safe and reliable supply.

ABC is insulated overhead cabling twisted into a bundle, and any work on it sits on the network side of the point of attachment, legally requiring an Accredited Service Provider. All repairs meet AS/NZS 3000 and the Service & Installation Rules of NSW.

Common ABC Faults

Fallen branches, vehicle strikes, corroded attachments and general ageing can damage aerial bundled cable, causing sag, exposed conductors or loss of supply. Damaged service lines are a serious hazard and should be treated as urgent.

SPG inspects the overhead mains, re-tensions or replaces the ABC run, and re-terminates at the point of attachment.

Repair Or Replace

Where the cable and attachments can be safely restored, we repair; where the run is beyond serviceable life, we replace it with new ABC. If the supporting power pole or attachment is failing, we can address that in the same visit.
