Already have solar and want to add storage — or expand the battery you've got? Sydney Power Group upgrades existing systems as CEC-accredited installers, keeping you eligible for current battery incentives (eligibility depends on your system and the scheme in place).

We assess your existing inverter, switchboard and metering first, then recommend the cleanest way to add capacity without unnecessary replacement.

Working with what you already have

Not every solar system is battery-ready. We check whether your inverter is hybrid-capable or whether an AC-coupled battery is the better retrofit, and confirm your switchboard has the capacity and protection for the addition.

If your inverter is ageing or failing, we'll be honest about whether an upgrade to a hybrid inverter as part of a broader solar installation makes more sense than bolting storage onto old gear.

Expanding existing storage

Many modern batteries are modular, letting you add capacity as your needs grow. We confirm compatibility with your current battery platform and firmware before quoting an expansion so you don't end up with mismatched hardware.

Safe, compliant and future-proof

Upgrades follow AS/NZS 5139 for siting and safety, and as a Level 2 ASP we manage any meter or supply changes the extra capacity needs. We can also add or extend a backup circuit at the same time.
