The Case for Going Smart

Smart meters remove estimated bills through remote reads, unlock time-of-use and controlled-load tariffs, and are required to measure solar export — a big draw across sunny Western Sydney where rooftop solar is booming. Across the Endeavour area, retailers are progressively phasing out old accumulation meters, and any new connection or switchboard upgrade now defaults to smart metering with a fresh NMI record. Prepping the Board First

Older switchboards and meter enclosures — including the ceramic-fuse boards still common on established Endeavour-area homes — often need work before a smart meter can be fitted safely and compliantly.
