AUSGRID PRIVATE POWER POLE

A private power pole is a pole on your property that carries the Ausgrid service to your home or between buildings — and unlike Ausgrid's own poles, it is your responsibility to maintain. Sydney Power Group is an Ausgrid authorised Level 2 ASP that installs, inspects, repairs and replaces private poles right across the Ausgrid network, from acreage in the Sutherland Shire to double blocks on the North Shore.

Who Owns the Pole?

Ausgrid owns the poles in the street; the pole (or poles) between the network and your dwelling are usually privately owned by you. That means maintenance, repair and replacement are your responsibility — and must be carried out by a Level 2 ASP. If you are unsure which poles are yours, we can identify them during an inspection. Poles & Defect Notices

Private poles are one of the most common subjects of Ausgrid defect notices, because a leaning or rotted pole is an immediate safety risk.
