A leaning, rotted or storm-damaged private pole must be replaced before it fails — and on the Ausgrid network that is Level 2 ASP work. Sydney Power Group replaces privately owned power poles across the Ausgrid supply area, transferring your service line and attachments to a new, compliant pole and lodging the paperwork with Ausgrid.

Signs Your Pole Needs Replacing

Timber poles rot at the base, split, or lean over years of weather; steel poles rust; and any pole hit in a storm can be compromised. Warning signs include a visible lean, soft or crumbling timber at ground level, cracks, and a sagging service line. If Ausgrid has flagged it, a full pole inspection confirms whether repair or replacement is required.

How Replacement Works

We install the new pole (timber or galvanised steel to suit your site), transfer the overhead service mains and point of attachment, and remove the old pole. Where the connection must be de-energised, we arrange a disconnect and reconnect so the work is done safely with minimal downtime.

Replacing a Defective Pole
