Power Pole Hit By A Car

Safety Around a Struck Pole

A vehicle impact can leave a pole structurally unsound even if it's still standing, and downed conductors can energise the car and surrounding ground. Occupants should remain in the vehicle and wait for help unless it's on fire; if they must exit for fire, jump clear without touching the car and ground at once, then shuffle away.

Keep onlookers back and treat every wire as live. This is closely related to a fallen power line situation — the same rules apply.
