Burning Smell From Switchboard

If you can see flames or smoke, get everyone out and call 000 immediately. If it is safe to do so, switch off the power at the main switch. Do not touch, open or investigate the switchboard yourself. Then call SPG on 0466 125 125 for urgent help.

A burning smell often means components are overheating or arcing behind the panel. If there is fire or smoke, call 000 first. If it is safe, turn off the main switch to cut power — but never force it or reach into a hot or damaged board. Keep people and pets well clear.

Do not attempt any DIY repair or open the switchboard cover. The safest action is to isolate power if you can and let a qualified emergency electrician handle it.
