When the fitting that holds your Ausgrid overhead service line to the building is beyond patching, it needs to come off and be rebuilt — not just tightened. Sydney Power Group is an Ausgrid authorised Level 2 ASP that fully replaces failed points of attachment across the Ausgrid supply area — the Sydney CBD, North Shore, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, Northern Beaches, the Sutherland Shire and out to the Central Coast and Hunter. Where a point of attachment repair only re-secures the existing bracket, a replacement installs a brand-new compliant attachment and re-terminates the service.

When Repair Is No Longer Viable

A replacement is triggered when the fitting is past re-securing: the bracket is rusted through or cracked, the timber fascia behind the mount has rotted, the masonry no longer holds a fixing, the attachment has torn off the wall, or the whole eaves detail has been rebuilt and the old mount no longer fits. Salt air across the Eastern Suburbs and Northern Beaches eats galvanising for decades before a bracket finally lets go, so many older Ausgrid-area homes are due a full rebuild rather than another tighten-up. Torn Off in a Storm

High winds and falling branches can rip the whole attachment clean off the wall, leaving the overhead service mains hanging. That is an emergency — keep well clear and call us to make safe, then we rebuild the mount and re-terminate the service to the current Ausgrid Network Standards. Rebuilding the Eaves or Fascia

Renovations, re-roofing and new fascia frequently disturb the point of attachment, and the old fitting rarely suits the rebuilt structure. We coordinate with your builder or roofer to install a new attachment on the reworked eaves, re-terminate the service and keep the connection compliant. If Ausgrid has flagged the fitting, we also close it through defect notice repairs.

Re-Terminating the Service

A full replacement means the service conductors are re-terminated onto the new attachment, which usually needs the connection de-energised for the work — we arrange the disconnect and reconnect so it is done safely and back on the same day.
