Your consumer mains are the cables that run from the Ausgrid point of attachment or pillar to your main switchboard — and if they are undersized, aged or overloaded, they are a safety risk and often the reason an Ausgrid defect notice is issued. When Consumer Mains Need Upgrading

Older Ausgrid-area homes were wired for a fraction of today's electrical load. Adding air conditioning, an EV charger, induction cooking or a granny flat can push aged mains past their safe capacity — causing warm cables, tripping and voltage drop. Overhead & Underground Mains

We replace both overhead and underground consumer mains on the Ausgrid network. Overhead runs are quicker but must meet clearance and attachment standards; underground runs are tidier and increasingly required in newer Ausgrid estates. We size the new cable correctly for your load and future needs, so you are not upgrading again in a few years.

Coordinating With Ausgrid

A consumer mains upgrade usually requires a temporary disconnection and reconnection of your supply so we can work safely on the live connection. As an Ausgrid authorised Level 2 ASP we arrange the disconnection, complete the mains, reconnect and re-energise — then lodge the compliance with Ausgrid. It is all managed under one booking with no separate coordination on your part.

Consumer mains connect directly to the Ausgrid network, so the work is squarely Level 2 ASP territory — a general electrician cannot lawfully touch it.
