Every air conditioner should run on its own dedicated power circuit — never a shared general outlet. Sydney Power Group installs correctly sized, RCD-protected circuits for splits, multi splits and ducted systems, with the switchboard space and protection to match your unit's rated load.

Correct sizing and protection

We size each circuit to the manufacturer's rated current — commonly a 15A or 20A single-phase run for splits, and heavier or three-phase runs for ducted and multi split units. The cable, circuit breaker and RCD are matched so the AC starts reliably and is protected against faults.

Undersized wiring is a common cause of tripping and overheating. We get it right the first time and fit a weatherproof isolator for safe disconnection.

Making room in the switchboard

A new dedicated circuit needs a free way in your switchboard and adequate main capacity. Where the board is full, outdated or lacks RCDs, we complete a switchboard upgrade so the AC circuit can be added safely.

If the overall demand exceeds your supply, we can upgrade the consumer mains or arrange a supply upgrade — network-side work requiring the Level 2 ASP accreditation SPG holds across all three NSW networks.
