A single split system is the most popular way to cool a room in Sydney — and it still needs a proper electrical setup. Sydney Power Group installs the dedicated power circuit and weatherproof isolator, then makes the safe connection so your AC technician can mount, pipe and charge the unit.

Power and isolator done right

Most single split systems run on a dedicated single-phase circuit sized to the unit's rated current — typically a 15A or 20A run with the correct cable and breaker. We fit a weatherproof isolator within sight of the outdoor unit so it can be isolated safely for maintenance, and provide RCD protection as required by the wiring rules.

We handle only the electrical connection — the disconnection and isolation side too — while your AC tech does the mounting, refrigerant piping and gas charge.

Checking your board can take it

Even a single split adds load. We confirm your switchboard has a spare way and that the main supply can handle it. If your board is old or full, a switchboard upgrade sorts it in one visit.

Working with your AC installer
