Sydney Power Group provides the electrical work behind every air conditioner installation across Greater Sydney. We are Level 2 ASP electricians, not refrigeration mechanics — so we run the dedicated power circuit, fit the weatherproof isolator, confirm your switchboard has capacity, and make the safe connection your AC technician needs to commission the unit.

The electrical side of any AC install

Air conditioners draw significant current and should never share a general power circuit. We install a dedicated circuit with the correct cable size and breaker for your unit's rated load, plus RCD protection to meet the wiring rules. A weatherproof isolator is fitted within sight of the outdoor unit so it can be safely disconnected for service.

Does your switchboard have room?

Before adding an AC circuit we check your switchboard for spare ways and confirm the main supply can carry the extra load. Older boards with ceramic fuses or no RCDs often need attention first — we can complete a switchboard upgrade at the same time so everything is safe and future-proof.

Where the total demand exceeds your existing service, a consumer mains or supply upgrade may be needed. Network-side work legally requires a Level 2 ASP — which SPG holds across Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy and Essential Energy.
