Solar panels going up on the roof is the visible part of the job. The part that determines whether your system can actually generate and export power is the grid connection — paperwork and physical work that sits entirely with a Level 2 ASP, not your solar installer.
The Connection Application
Every new solar PV system connecting to Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, or Essential Energy infrastructure requires a formal connection application before it can export power. This confirms your system's inverter capacity is within what the local network can accept and, where relevant, sets any export limit your connection requires.
Switchboard and Supply Readiness
Older switchboards and single-phase supplies often can't handle the combined load of solar, battery storage, and EV charging on one circuit. Before connection, we assess whether a switchboard upgrade or three-phase conversion is needed to support your system safely and leave room for future additions.
Metering and Final Sign-Off
Once the switchboard is ready and the network application is approved, we install and register a bi-directional meter, then coordinate final sign-off with your distributor. Only after this is complete can your solar installer safely energise the system and your retailer start crediting exported power. Full detail is available on our Solar System service page.
